David's Godfather Blog: Week 1: The Human Condition

For this week I am going to focus on Malvolio and Michael. Malvolio was an outsider in Twelfth Night because he was not involved in the loop. He was so focused on being serious that he ended up being fooled by a letter he thought was given to him by Olivia. Human are deceived if they are unable to recognize the truth . When it comes to Michael, he is an outsider in his situation because he went to war and fought against Italy. A quote that shapes this is when he says, " That's my family, but not me." Micheal has decided to defend the country he was born instead of defend the country of his family. Through this analysis the conclusion that can be made is that families need to stay together.
